Sweden set to sail ahead with multirole support ship

(FMV) Sweden's Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) expects to begin the project definition phase for a purpose-built combat support ship next year intended to enter service in 2015 to meet a range of afloat replenishment, logistics, sealift and amphibious support missions.

The requirement for the new multirole vessel – given the designation L10 – was first identified by the Royal Swedish Navy in late 2005/early 2006 following a capability gap analysis performed by the Naval Staff in the headquarters of the Swedish armed forces. This pinpointed shortfalls in afloat logistic support, limitations on the deployability of the amphibious battalion, and an inability to support helicopter operations in the maritime domain.

Work to draft an outline staff requirement began in 2007. Speaking at the MAST 2009 conference in Stockholm on 22 October, Commander Kjell-Ove Schramm, L10 requirements officer, said that following an initial analysis phase, "the decision was taken that the requirements were to be stated for a single type of vessel for fleet logistic support and replenishment as well as providing the amphibious lift and sea lift role".

He added: "The multirole ship solution ... enables us to maximise our sealift capability, which is generally needed for a short duration during the initial phases of an operation, and then shift to the logistic support role, supporting both naval units as well as potentially units ashore if needed."

Russian sub fails to launch missile

MOSCOW: Russia’s latest test of its next-generation Bulava missile was aborted when a submarine failed to carry out the launch, in a fresh setback for the project, the Interfax news agency reported on Thursday.

The Dmitry Donskoi, a nuclear-powered sub that had been due to test-fire a Bulava off Russia’s northern coast, returned to its White Sea base without having launched the missile, a source at the naval base told Interfax.

“The main task of the mission, the execution of the Bulava test launch, was not fulfilled,” the source was quoted as saying.

“There are many theories about the event but the reasons can only be announced after an analysis of what happened,” he added. The Bulava, the flagship project in Moscow’s efforts to revamp its ageing Soviet-era missile arsenal, has suffered a string of embarrassing failures, with seven out of 11 tests since 2005 ending unsuccessfully.

Nearly half of the Russian defence ministry’s purchasing budget is devoted to the Bulava programme, according to Russian media reports.

A Russian submarine failed to carry out a scheduled test of the nation's sea-based experimental ballistic missile in the Arctic Ocean, Agence France-Presse reported yesterday (see GSN, Oct. 15).

The Dmitry Donskoi returned to its base in western Russia without firing the weapon as planned, a naval base source told Interfax.

"The main task of the mission, the execution of the Bulava test launch, was not fulfilled," the source said. "There are many theories about the event but the reasons can only be announced after an analysis of what happened."

The missile, which has failed in six of 11 flight tests, is intended to arm Russia's new Borei-class submarines and to form a key component of Moscow's nuclear deterrent. It is designed to carry as many as 10 independently targeted nuclear warheads up to 5,000 miles.

Moscow has dedicated almost 50 percent of its defense purchasing budget to the weapon's development, Russian news reports have indicated (Agence France-Presse/Spacewar.com, Oct. 29).

Meanwhile, a Russian nuclear-capable, short-range ballistic missile unexpectedly broke up during a live-fire exercise yesterday, Interfax reported.

"The missile self-destructed at the height of 1,000 meters (about 3,280 feet)," said Col. Alexei Kuznetsov. The incident involving the unarmed Tochka-U missile was not reported to have caused injuries or any other harm.

An investigation is planned. A second Tochka-U test went off without trouble, the official said.

Developed in 1989, the Tochka-U is a variant of the Soviet-era Tochka missile commissioned in 1976 (Interfax, Oct. 30).

ผมยังจำได้ว่าสาเหตุที่ผมเลือกเข้าเรียนที่จันทรเกษมไม่ใช่ด้วยเหตุผลที่ว่าผมสอบEntrance เข้ามหาวิทยาลัยรัฐอื่นไม่ติด
แต่ผมเลือกสอบเข้าจันทรเกษมเองเพราะว่าครูที่เคยผมมาตั้งแต่สมัยเรียนประถมศึกษาหลายท่านจบจันทรเกษมมาตั้งแต่สมัยยังเป็นวิทยาลัยครู (มีความประทับใจ)

เครื่องแบบนักศึกษาชายของชาวราชภัฏเรามีหัวเข็มขัดมีตราราชภัฏ ซึ่งมีพระราชลัญฉกรของพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวรัชกาลปัจจุบันซึ่งทรงพระราชทานให้ชาวราชภัฏ
ในขณะที่ผมเรียนผมถือตัวเองเสมอว่าผมเป็นต้องทำตนเป็นผู้มีเกียรติสมกับที่ถูกปลูกฝังว่า "คนของพระราชา เป็นข้าฯของแผ่นดิน"
ผมไม่เคยแต่ตัวผิดระเบียบแม้แค่ครั้งเดียว เสื้อต้องเข้าในกางเกง ไม่ปิดหัวเข็มขัด กางเกงใช้แต่น้ำเงินเข้ม ไม่เคยนุ่งสีดำหรือยีน รองเท้าหนังหุ้มข้อขัดมันเสมอ
ทั้งๆที่คนอื่นแต่งตัวผิดระเบียบจนเป็นเรื่องธรรมดาไปแล้วในตอนนั้น
(ตอนที่เรียนผมไม่เข้าซุ้มและทำกิจกรรมกับรุ่นจนโดน"ตัดรุ่น" อะไรสักนะครับ แต่นั้นไม่สำคัญเท่าไร
ที่น่าประหลาดที่ครั้งหนึ่ง ผมเคยถูกลอกข้อสอบจากพวกคนที่ตัดรุ่นผม จนเรื่องไปถึงอาจารย์และมีการร้องเรียนให้สอบใหม่
เป็นอีกครั้งในชีวิตที่คนพึลึกๆอย่างผมได้เห็นธาตุแท้ของคน ไม่คบ ไม่คุย รังเกียจ แต่ก็มาลอกข้อสอบ
นอกจาการพึ่งตนเองแล้วแต่อาจารย์หลายๆท่านก็ช่วยเหลือผมมาก
จริงๆจันทรเกษมไม่ค่อยเหมือนสถาบันอุดมศึกษาเสียทีเดียวหรอก เรามีบรรยากาศคล้ายๆกับโรงเรียนมากกว่า)

และถ้านับในส่วนของวิทยานิพนธ์แล้ว จำได้ว่าในรุ่นมีผมคนเดียวที่เขียน C++ กับ DirectX ล้วนๆส่ง(งานวิจัย 3D ไม่ใช่ Game)
แน่นอนว่าผมไม่ได้เกียรตินิยม โดยอาศัยวิธีท่องจำข้อสอบ Copy Source Code จาก Internet จ้างคนทำงานมาส่ง
หรือ Drop วิชายากๆ ไปตี Tennis เอา Grade

มันน่าเศร้าที่มีบางคนที่มองว่าราชภัฏเป็นสถาบันการศึกษาในระดับที่เทียบไม่ได้กับสถาบันอื่นๆนี้
ส่วนตัวก็ไม่ทราบว่าคนเหล่านั้นจะหลงยึดติดความคิดแบ่งระดับชั้น วัดคุณค่าของคนกันที่สถาบันการศึกษาทำไมกัน
อย่างน้องผมเรียนวิศวกรรมเกษตรฯปี4 เรียนไปซ่อมไป Grade 2กว่าๆ
ซึ่ง Grade มันคงจะดีหรอกนะวันๆ Download แต่ Anime หนังสือ Cartoon เต็มห้องยังกะร้านเช่าหนังสือ
พอถึงเวลาสอบ หรือเวลาทำโครงงาน ก็ไม่เตรียมแต่แรก ถึงเวลาจะส่งก็ ฉุกละหุก วุ่นวายไปหมด
ล่าสุดถึงแม้จะได้ A ในเทอมที่แล้วหลายตัว แต่ก็มีปัญหาเรื่องลงวิชาภาคกับวิชาหลักที่ไม่ผ่านลงไม่ได้ชนกันอีก
แต่เขาก็มีเพื่อนฝูงมากมายให้การช่วยเหลือ ต่างจากผมซึ่งตอนที่เรียนนี้ต้องพึ่งตนเองแทบทั้งหมด
(ก็ไม่รู้ว่ามันจะได้งานทำหรือไม่ ช่วงนี้ใครๆก็หางานยาก)

ใครๆมีชีวิตเป็นของตนเองที่แตกต่างกัน ซึ่งมาตรฐานของคนหนึ่งก็อาจใช้กับอีกคนไม่ได้

ผมถือตนเสมอว่า ผมจบราชภัฏจันทรเกษม จบอย่าง "คนของพระราชา" จบอย่างมีเกียรติ มีศักดิ์ศรี มีความภาคภูมิใจครับ
