Gripen NG full speed
The Gripen Demonstrator NG continues to progress in their testing program, now enhanced with various tactical systems: an AESA radar, a new satellite coms, an electro-optical missile warning, and also expect a greater internal capacity fuel.
The Program aims NG Gripen Demonstrator is to present the capabilities that will be included in the new generation Gripen fighter.

The AESA radar, ie, the system of active electronically scanned, is one of the features of the upgraded Gripen. Simply put, we can say that it is a radar made of many elements of miniature antenna, mounted so as to form one large antenna. Each of these elements can be individually controlled, allowing for several new functions. Previously, the Gripen radar antenna had a mechanically controlled, with the capacity to illuminate one area at a time. An AESA radar can quickly scanning the large areas, monitoring a larger number of targets simultaneously, and gives the pilot greater operational flexibility. The new system of satellite communications enables voice and data through a satellite.
Gripen demo already recorded 79 test flights in its first phase of tests, especially when they were tested a new set of landing gear and the new engine, the F414G. In the second phase , which started this week, have been made two test flights, achieving encouraging results.
In addition, the NG demonstrator was flown by Brazilian officials, in tests to assess the Gripen NG for the program FX-2. The evaluation team piloted the Gripen NG Demo in early April 2009. The purpose of these tests, carried out by FAB, was to verify and evaluate the Gripen NG next generation.
The report, in which the Brazilian committee evaluation examines the three competitors, should be delivered soon to the Council of National Defense.

Gripen NG ได้ถูกนำเสนอเข้าแข่งขันในโครงการจัดหาเครื่องบินขับไล่ใหม่หลายประเทศเช่น MMRCA ของอินเดีย และ FX-2 ของบราซิล ซึ่งนักบินของบราซิลได้ขึ้นบินทดสอบกับ Gripen DEMO ด้วยครับ
(แต่ทั้งสองโครงการนั้นมีคู่แข่งที่ได้เปรียบกว่าเช่น MiG-35 สำหรับอินเดีย และ Rafale สำหรับบราซิลเป็นต้น)
